The Ares I-X Rocket launch anniversary is coming up on October 28, 2009. The first Ares I rock
et (designated Ares I-X) was launched from Cape Canaveral Space Launch Complex 39B.
Although the experimental Ares I-X launch had a dummy second stage and payload, the Ares I rocket was designed to launch the Crew Exploration Vehicle (A.K.A., the Orion Capsule).
